Cajon Mtn is challenging but a rewarding trail. Trail is steep and washed out in places, so have boots or good hiking shoes. A little muddy and slick in places after recent rains. Trail is not well marked after the junction to Cuyamaca peak, so watch where you are going. Missed some views because it was a cloudy day, but still a beautiful hike and glad to not deal with the heat and sun, which would be bad on this hike. Took a short detour to also summit El Capitan Peak. Would have been spectacular to take the trail south to the precipice, but trail was closed.
