El Cajon Mountain is probably one of the toughest hikes so far. This was #5 in our Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge. It definitely was a challenge, and we’re proud to have completed this one. This hike is just as tough going back as it is getting to the peak. We encountered a rattle snake that was under a bush. It started rattling, then slithered off into the brush away from us.
