Flying Crows return to Franconia Ridge and Mount Lincoln
Mount Lincoln
Date: 10/11/2025
Start: 9:33am
End: 5:33pm
Miles: 9.1 miles
This is my 10th peak for Six Pack of Peaks: New England 2025 and it has been about five years since I’ve summited. It was a great feeling to be back.
I started from Lafayette Place Campground via Falling Waters Trail up to Little Haystack, connected to the Franconia Ridge Trail(AT – Appalachian Trail) continuing up to Mount Lincoln, North Lincoln and then Mount Lafayette the down Old Bridle Path to the Greenleaf Hut and back to the Lafayette Place Campground. The trail had some ice patches near summit of Little Haystack and further down from summit of Mount Lafayette. Trails were very busy and well traveled. Along the way there were a number of vistas and along the ridge and summits offered 360 views. Could see many mountains way off in the distance. Weather was perfect with clear skies and a cool breeze now and then to cool down from hiking.
This was my first time doing Falling Waters Trail and was amazing seeing the waterfalls. The views up on the were amazing and for the length of hike it was worth the hike. Definitely recommended to others. Definitely a reminder to others to be prepared for weather changes, to bring plenty of water and make sure rest plenty before going on this journey! Little Haystack, Mount Lincoln, North Lincoln, and Mount Lafayette never disappoint!
