Helped my daughter (11) complete her 9th and final (mine as well) hike for the 2026 Arizona Winter challenge. I wasn’t sure she would be able to pull off hiking all 9 peak options but she did!!!!!
My second time up Quartz and it doesn’t disappoint. Always fun to sit on large slabs of quartz and eat some snacks while taking it all it. Seeing my daughter’s excitement makes it even better.
Trail goes along the ridgeline and is fully exposed. Don’t forget your sunscreen.
Congratulations to both of you! Quartz Peak is a hard one — getting to the trailhead is even a challenge!
Thank you. We had to borrow someone else’s car to make it to the trailhead. So proud of my daughter for getting all of these done. She did 4 of them with me 2 years ago when I did the challenge and doing it herself was what she wanted for Christmas.
