Living in Escondido, I had to wake up at 3am to to get ready and drive to the trailhead.  I had planned to hike the Devil’s Slide trail, but the Ranger requires the permit to be picked up in person inside the office and they didn’t open until 8am.  We got our permit outside and headed to the Marion Mountain trailhead.  What a great day to hike my fifth of the Six pack!
