Hiking through sun, fog, rain and wind! Bay Area microclimate at its best!

Beautiful fall hike, trail conditions great even after the storm the night below. Limited parking spaces (about 8 cars) at the Rhus Ridge trailhead – so start your hike early. Pretty steep at times, but otherwise a moderate hike. Breathtaking taking views of the South Bay during the first half of the hike, before the fog rolled in. It was cold at the beginning the hike, then it got warm, then cold again, and then freezing cold and very windy. Wear or pack layers for the changing conditions.
