Hiking with the deer on Mt Umunhum

It was a cold, wet Monday morning. Light rain most of the way up. The last 1/4 mile of the trail to the summit is closed, with a detour over to the parking area and up the 159 stairs. The “cube” itself was also partitioned off. Apparently there is still some remediation that needs to be done on the site before it can be opened.

Unfortunately, the views were obscured by the low clouds, but I did run across three curious deer on my way up. The trail itself is in beautiful condition. Supposedly on a clear day you can see Santa Cruz Bay in one direction, and the South Bay in the other.
