I focused this trip on training for elevation gain, pack weight, and overall mileage. Spent the night camping at Limber Pine Bench — it was extremely windy throughout.

Water was flowing well at the spring, about 8–10 minutes up the trail from camp, near the first switchback.

I chose not to summit on this trip, as my Six-Pack Peak partner couldn’t make it. We’ve committed to finishing the challenge together. So — no summit badge this time, @Jeff!

The trail had several fallen trees and passed through extensive burn scar areas. On the descent, I met a ranger doing permit checks. Good news: I had mine!
