Great (but long) day climbing Charleston with Ethan, Lucie and Richard. We started our hike at 5:20 am and first bagged Griffith (see my other hike log), then on to Mount Charleston.

it was 109f in Vegas, but cool along the ridge. The winds were fierce. Had moments where I wasn’t sure I had it in me, but made it to the summit just before noon.

The stone windbreak was a godsend! Ate my PB&J sandwich, took a few more photos and vegans the long hike back.

19.01 miles, 5,413’ vertical gain over 8:45 hours of moving time. Drank 4 liters of water, but probably should’ve drank more.
