Misty Morning Coffee on Black Crater

In a repeat from last year, Black Crater was my 6th peak. I started early but no pre-dawn hiking this time. I wound up catching a rare August day of chilly drizzle and low clouds. It didn’t make for much of a view, but I loved the change-up from the typical weather. By the time I made it to the top, I was engulfed in low clouds. An occasional break provided very brief views, but mostly I just enjoyed the feel of being up on a summit surrounded by mist. And of course what better way to enjoy my thermos of coffee that sitting in clouds on a mountaintop!
