Mount Diablo

Another beautiful day to hike Mount Diablo. I was misguided thinking we could make it to the peak in four hours, but was told it would take 9. We almost did it because we were told there was ice cream sold at the top. Instead we wound our way to Eagle Peak via Mitchell Rock and Eagle Peak trail and enjoyed the forest bathing along the way. It took four hours to complete. Near the end we talked to some men and then sighted a rattlesnake on the path; he looked at us and slithered away. I was happy to be rid of him and to make our way happily back.
