Mount Diablo

Although I’ve hiked on Mount Diablo a few times over the years, I’ve never started at Macedo Ranch before; it’s nice that the park’s trail network is extensive and I can still find new trailheads. Though starting at a different location didn’t make the ascent any easier – it’s still one of the few parks in the Bay Area where I can reliably get 4,000+ ft of ascent.
