Mt Diablo deserves its name
Went clockwise on this loop which has some steep uphill and the trail is a bit overgrown.
Found 1 tick on my pants but I did permethrin coat my clothes. Lots of branches and poison oak across the first 6 miles.
The visitor center at the top was closed when we visited.
The back 6 is a fire road that is a bit crowded until you pass Juniper campground then it clear out.
Would definitely prefer to do the steep portion as uphill rather than downhill. There was also a ton of earwig bugs at the summit and these ones fly apparently. Pretty poorly and often into you. Might be their mating season.
