#Friyay! Back to hiking with my Hike Beyond the Hills after a whole year away! My group’s last hike pre-pandemic was on Strawberry Peak (6,165’)…and apropos to return to hiking on this very same mountain.
My new Canadian friend, Drew, joined me. He’s a lawyer and just moved here in Jan/2021 with his wife. Turns out this was his very FIRST mountain hike in the US ????????. ????
We started at 800am at Red Box Picnic Area—there were only 4 other cars parked. We saw less than 10 people along the trail (plus 2 garter snakes ????) and had the peak all to ourselves. Total 7 miles with 1,800 elevation gained, time hiked 3:52 hours; burned 1,300 kcal! #covidvaccinated #hikebeyondthehills #sixpackofpeaks
