Peak #5: Mount Harvard

Our fifth peak in the Colorado Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge.

Woke up at 3:00 am and got to the trailhead a bit before 5:00 am. The road to the trailhead was rough in spots.

The first five miles of this hike gradually climb, with beautiful views of the valley leading to the  peak…which looks intimidatingly far and tall.

We kept plugging away and eventually came to the steep, rocky section. The climb was slow and arduous, but we all made it.

We headed down shortly after noon, and soon heard the rumbling of thunder in the distance. Before making it back to the car, I got hit with hail and rain.

Great day on the trail… long and rough!
