Maple Springs gate at the visitor center was open today finally! Drove up to main divide and hiked to Santiago Peak! Summit not too crowded only a handful of OHV summiters! Someone installed a large wooden cross at the summit and also a flag pole with an American flag! Beautiful addition to the summit! On the way down, we took a side trail to Modjeska Peak, which was very rugged and pretty washed out at one point and full of poodle dog, bush! yikes!!! The weather was perfect 55° at the start in 65° at the end! This was my fifth peak for 2026
