We left the valley at 4 AM and got to the trailhead about an hour and a half later. Temperatures at 6 AM were in the low 50s, the hike is beautiful as it starts through pine trees, and you gradually ascend through a large boulder field. The trail is well marked, lots of climbing till you get to the peak with great views of the San Francisco peaks to the north. Definitely advise start as early as you can as coming down you were in full sun and it got in the 90s.
