I couldn’t think of a better place to propose to my girlfriend than the Baldy summit.  We both love to hike and her birthday was on Sunday.  So I packed some presents, a card and the ring and we were joined by two hiking friends at the Notch, where we trekked up the Backbone Trail to the summit.  After the photo op behind the marker, I started singing Happy Birthday and the gifting, kissing and hugging began.  Little did she know what was about to happen next.  I got down on my knee and told her I wanted her to be with me the rest of my life.  She accepted!  We will be enjoying a lifetime of hikes and much more.  ????
