Redemption
7/31 San Bernardino Peak via Angelus Oaks, 16.2 miles, 4,812 feet in elevation gain
My redemption hike today. I attempted San B on 4/19 and was turned back about a mile from the summit due to insufficient gear and icy snow.
Great hike this morning though to San Bernardino Peak via Angelus Oaks. 3 hours 15 minutes up, 30 minutes at the summit, and 2 hours 37 minutes back to the truck.
Just a handful of hikers on trail this morning. One slept at the summit and came down after sunrise. Three small groups were making their way up as I was descending.
Temps were about 60 degrees early on and climbed to about 80+ when I finished. I drank one liter of water with electrolytes before I started. I carried 2.5 liters of water and electrolytes with me. I didn’t drink on the ascent. Drank a half liter with electrolytes at the summit and about one liter on the descent. Drank the last litter on the drive back to my campsite.
It was a great day on trail.
