Being from LA, it was a bit of a trek so we opted to stay at the Lodge at Angelus Oaks. It was SO CUTE. We loved it. Then we woke up…late anyway. LOL. Which ended up being a blessing because 2 miles into our hike it started pouring. We ran into Ranger Michael, who said he couldn’t summit because of the weather. We kept trekking along and the skies cleared! And the rain was just the refresh we needed to energize us to get to the top. The entire hike was beautiful, haunting, sad, but still so incredibly stunning, even with the fire damage. We hiked 16.5 miles in beautiful weather. When the rain cleared, it still stayed nice and cool. No lightning or thunder. We had the best time. This was my favorite hike so far of all the Six Pack of Peaks.
