Sherman Start

We started early in the morning around 0500 from the Iowa Gulch trailhead. Watching the fog from Leadville slowly fill the valley below us as we climbed up the mountain was beautifully spooky. The sight above the clouds was incredible up there and we timed our summit just right as the clouds capped the peak shortly after we made it.

The trail was clearly visible and the talus wasn’t too bad. I haven’t seen so many pika in one place before!
