We couldnt get a permit online for the Vivian Creek Trail because they were all taken, so we settled for the South Fork Trail.  It is nice to have fewer people at the trailhead, and have good parking and a restroom.  The weather was cool in the morning, and we were fortunate to have some cloud cover, since many of the trees along the first section of the trail were burned in recent fires.  We tried to minimize the length of the hike by taking the shorter side of the loop trail at South Lake.  But that meant it was steeper and harder!  There were some dark storm clouds and a little drizzle part way through, but it cleared up by the time we reached the summit.  We had a pleasant hike down and returned to our car safely, after another successful hike to finish the Six Pack!
