Stunning Picacho Peak Hike

This was our second hike of the day after doing an early morning hike of Wasson Peak.  Since we made the drive from Phoenix my son and I decided we would do both hikes in a day.  Tiring day but well worth it. It was a beautiful day for hiking.  Almost right away the trail starts stair-climbing and the views of the mountain were breath taking.  I wasn’t sure I would make it to the summit…..the cables sounded daunting to me.  With the encouragement of my son we took it slow and steady to the top.  Not sure I would have done it on my own without some encouragement and help from my son.  I’ve never felt so good about tackling something I was a bit nervous to do.  Instead of a Rocky Mt. High I had a Picacho Peak high for the remainder of the day!!!
