sweet and short

The motto on that bench at the top ‘seldom seen’, is that supposed to apply to the views there or to us wandering hikers who are seldom seen by our family? More rural than wilderness, Volcan is a sweet little hike near Julian; rolling hills wide open space. I would call it a warm-up hike, if it hadn’t 85 degrees already… So do take it easy and cary plenty of water. On the way back I took the five oaks trip, which is a more typical trail and provides a bit of cover.
