Volcan Mountain – start early!

This was a very pretty and simple hike. There are neat displays on each side to tell you what peaks you are looking at in the distance. The summit itself is somewhat anticlimactic (our summit photo is on the bench in the middle of the loop). But the approach was pretty neat, literal amber waves of grain.
Huge benefit to starting early. If we had started at 5am basically the whole thing except the top would be in shade. Starting at 6am, we got some exposure on the way down.
