20 miles
13:55hrs
4:15 am start time.
I finally got to carpool with my group. Thankfully I got zero sleep. Got there and stretch, my mind trying understand what 20 miles means . As we hike through the night the hike was okay. Now wall of elevation gain. No extreme huffing and puffing. My pack heavy though. Before we know it we make it 2 miles in to the San G wilderness sign. We break take pics again trying to understand what 20 miles is about. We climb and make it to 5 miles and see San G in the distance. Okay I’m starting to understand. This is gonna hurt ????. We trudge along and make it to a saddle at the base of the last 2 miles. That’s right 7 miles in and we got a hella lot more climbing to do. But I am surprised. My body is not completely haywire. We climb and climb and hit 10k elevation. Alright let the game begin. With every 100 ft you feel the weight pushing you back. Each step harder than the last. 11,000 feet elevation. Where is the top? Keep going. Step step step step. It’s my go to mantra/ song I go to. I see San J from afar and curse at her. I remember ????. Step step step. And before you know it 11,503 ft and I’m there to the top. We rest and recover and eat before realizing we have 10 miles to go. The last 3 ring the most unbearable. Everything hurts. 3 lost toenails later and 3 caprisun later we make it back to the car. Success!!! We did it!!! All 3 saints and all 6 peaks ! Done! Completed!!!! Whoooo!!!!
