Hiked with a group

July 18thth Peak #4 of the Colorado Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. We all got up early. Pack our bags and left the Chief Hosa Campground. We arrived at the Bergen Peak Trailhead right around 0715 and headed out for a pretty easy 11.9-mile hike to Bergen Peak. Seven of us (Jeff, Ben, Alfonzo, Joe, Julie, Cam and I) set off for our first peak together for the challenge. Great hike. Lots of trees and shade, with a little exposure toward the end of the hike. However, that ended up being masked by a thunder shower that came in during our final 2 miles or so.

There was plenty of wildlife out there today too. As I arrived at the trailhead there was a four-point deer not 15 feet from my truck. He took off quickly though. We also saw the normal creatures running around trail and a moose near the end of the hike.

All in all, it was a pretty good day. Peak #1 for the team complete!
