Weekday at Potato Chip Rock

I get Lincoln’s birthday off, so to take advantage of having this obscure holiday off, I was going to either Disneyland or Potato Chip Rock. Since D-land costs too much, and parking was only $10 at Lake Poway (it turned out to be free because of the holiday), Potato Chip Rock it is!  We started hiking at 10 a.m. and the weather was perfect. Clear blue sky and high in the 60’s.  It was a little windy at the top. There was a short wait at the rock for picture taking. We headed up another 0.2 miles to the peak (there are no signs, just a bunch of antenna towers), had lunch there, and when we headed back down the mountain, there was no wait at all at the rock. So we were able to take more pictures at one of the most instragrammed  places in Southern California.
