World Naked Hiking Day
June 21 was World Naked Hiking Day so I took the challenge. I hiked naked from the trailhead to the summit and back down to the Wilderness Boundary. It was a real thrill. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, there weren’t many hikers that day, so I didn’t have to explain myself to very many people. None of the hikers I met knew of the important status of the day. I was all alone at the top so there was nobody to take my picture. My daypack next to the summit sign photo will have to suffice for evidence that I was there. Did anyone else take the Naked Hiking Day challenge?
Seriously?! ?
Didn’t happen if you don’t have a picture. Hikertrash uncensored facebook group has plenty of evidence of participants in this sacred solstice practice. Another fun challenge is E.S.P.N *every Sierra pass naked*
@Ed71 seems to have corroborated this lol
In the Portland/Vancouver area it was cold and raining on June 21st, 2025, so I suspect Nude Hiking Day was a bust in my area. However, I do tend to go on nude hikes with a friend when our schedules align. In Oregon and Washington states hiking nude is (for the most part) legal. We’ve hiked nude 5 or 6 times in the last two months.
We do carry Velcro fastening kilts (from sportkilt.com) to be able to cover up if we hear kids coming. If the trails are very populated we just wear the kilts which feels the closest to hiking nude as you can get without actually beign nude.
I was actually planning to join a naked bike ride in Portland on June 21st instead of hiking… but again it was cold and raining.
