First day patch
Posted by Russell on January 31, 2022 at 8:59 pmOk…I give up, what does a “First Day Patch” signify?
Realizing , this could be self deprecating.

Hi there! If you’re referring to the “First Day Challenge” badge that appears on your Social Hiker profile, I believe it’s to signify that you completed a hike on the very first day of the challenge on January 1, 2022. I have the same badge and I got it after logging my first hike on January 1.

Payton hit the nail on the head. 🙂
It’s loosely based on the “First Day Hikes” organized by the association of state parks. We are trying to come up with some additional surprises like this throughout the year.
Incidentally, though I didn’t hike one of the Six-Pack of Peaks mountains on New Year’s Day, I do have a tradition of hiking Pilot Butte in Bend in time to catch the sunrise.
