Will the Sept 30 date be extended because of the fires?

The date to complete the challenge is December 31, 2020. ????

Yes, but for the award dinner I thought it was Sept 30?

Thanks to the pandemic, there will be no in-person awards dinner. 🙁
Instead, we will be doing something similar to what we did for the “virtual” finishers party we held in May for the Arizona challenge: https://socialhiker.net/recap-of-the-2020-arizona-winter-six-pack-of-peaks-challenge/
The certificates and finisher patches (new for SoCal!) will be sent out at the actual end of the challenge (early January 2021). Our party will also be held sometime in early January. This allows everyone plenty of time to finish and get recognition.
We will still do the gear giveaways, with special guests and more, and rather than just those who finished by September 30th, ALL the finishers can participate.
