I finished out this year's Six-Pack Challenge again on Gobbler's Knob.  It wasn't intended that way, but none of these peaks were “planned” in any kind of order…they just kinda happened the way they happened.  In the case of Gobbler's, I got an invite back in February to snowshoe up to this peak from its northern ridge.  This route was new to me but for some reason, I didn't go and regretted it ever since….especially after seeing the pictures and hearing about the adventure.  It's been nagging at me ever since and I couldn't wait until next winter, so I grabbed my brother-in-law and did it on Friday (7/8)!

We knew there would be a bit of bushwacking once we got off trail, but I didn't know how thick or for how long we'd have to push our way through.  It turned out to be not that bad.  A steady climb to the top, but it only took us 3 and a half hours to go 4.3 miles with 3,884′ of elevation.  Going down the way we came wasn't going to be fun, so we opted for the normal way down to Baker Pass and out Bowman Fork.  Final stats were 9 miles with 3,943′ of vert, done in 5 and a half hours.
