Today I hiked to the summit of Mt. Diablo. This isn't my first time on the summit of this mountain. I've driven up a few times. I've ridden my bike to the top. I've done a few trail races that required me to go to the summit before coming back down. …and I've hiked to the summit more times than I can remember. I probably wouldn't have bothered with the Mt. Diablo summit again…but it's part of the 2020 Northern California Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. Since I am doing the challenge, I did Mt. Diablo…again. ????

Today's hike was 14.45 miles with over 3,600 feet of climb. About a mile from the top, I encountered a little rain. One of the benefits of reaching the top of any mountain is taking in the views. By the time I reached the summit today, it was completely fogged in. ????

This summit gets me half-way through the Northern California Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. Only three more mountains to go…and I still have over nine months left in the year! ⛰ (My goal is to finish before summer. ????)
