The hike up Wasson Peak, while a bit long, was very pleasant, and coming back down was much easier with a comparatively smooth trail. It was wonderful to have a comfortable and not overly challenging hike to get us ready for the challenging Picacho Peak on the next day on our two day Tucson trip. The hike was surprisingly uncrowded for a hike that is pretty close to Tucson, but the hikers we met were very friendly. The weather was perfect in February, we felt energized by the beautiful desert scenery, and left excited to do Picacho Peak the next day.
