First hike in a couple months, about 10 miles and 3500 feet of elevation gain. It kicked my butt, altogether took about 4 hours and 40 min. Views from the summit were 100% worth every second and would definitely do this again.

Great job, William! Where did the snow start (~ how far from the top)? Also, was there anyone parked at the upper trailhead?
I hiked this from the lower trailhead back in February, but I want to plan a couple more conditioning hikes on Black Butte in May.
The snow started from the upper trail head, in the shade /tree cover is very icy and towards the top maybe a foot to 2 feet of snow in some places. There were very few people there and only saw them on the way down.
Wow looks amazing! Great to know that an AWD is not needed for the road condition.
