We arrived before Dawn because we heard that   Santa’s visits on the weekends before Christmas draws big crowds. We did some bouldering to get up Echo trail, but made ahead of the crowds. It was a party atmosphere up there. Santa hiked up a few minutes after us, so we all posed with him. If you like solitude at the peak, avoid the Christmas holidays! We left soon after Santa arrived and took Cholla Trail down. I think it’s a bit easier to do than Echo, but not by much.  Those big crowds were heading up at 8 AM, as we were coming down. Fun morning for us!
