Of all of the San Diego hikes, this one is probably going to be a new favorite.

The only thing that dampened the mood was the rain, boo! We got to the trail head around 8 AM and while the rain never “poured” it did make the trail very slippery, lots or sliding around in the mud.  The there was the clouds that kept most of the view obstructed. It wasn’t until we were on our way back that we caught glimpses of the amazing rock face with blue sky backdrops!

And even with all of that in mind, I would definitely go back. The manzanita trees were budding and beautifully vibrant in color and I enjoyed seeing the fall leaves peaking through the branches. I am bummed that I couldn’t take better pictures, but that wind was no joke and I didn’t have want to risk anymore rain/mud on the trail.

Adventure pass required. Limited parking. Some cellular service on the trail.
