Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

The first real hike of the season (other than some Smith Rock adventures) got the calves burning. The weather was perfect for hiking (temps in the 50s) although the clouds also shrouded all of the Cascade peaks. It was still beautiful and not too crowded. Met some great dogs & people who were all happy to be out. Trail was in great condition – only a couple of patches of snow near the top that were easy to navigate in hiking shoes. Had some summit brews at the top!

    1. We started from the upper trailhead. I wasn’t aware of the lower one until we got there… but my husband would have been super annoyed if I made him add those miles ;). The neck koozies are a must for summit beers!
