First peak of the year

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Bugs:

Snow:

Snow free

The majority of the hike is pretty mellow/moderate and a bit rocky at some points so watch your step. The weather was perfect but much warmer than I expected. It was a crowded trail so please make sure you wear your mask especially since the trail is narrow. The last half mile of the trail is when the ascend to the peak begins and it was killer! I had to take numerous breaks and at one point felt like I was going to pass out. I’m sure trekking poles would have been beneficial to use so I’m definitely going to buy a pair for my next peak. It felt like I was going to die getting to the peak but made it and celebrated with a beer! It was a little scary getting back down and slipped once, haha.
My feet and ankles were super sore towards the end of the hike, but loved the experience overall.
