Spectacular hike!!!
Be ready for an all day adventure. The desert was exploding with color, best bloom I have seen in years. The hike turns into a climb about halfway up. Bring more water than you think you need, it is a strenuous climb to the top. Once you get to the crest of the trail you have the world unfold for you to enjoy. A special view of the entire valley.
On the way down it's slow and steady making sure you have solid footing on the small rocks they brought in to “improve” the trail. Gloves are helpful to protect your hands as you will be using all fours on a significant amount of the climb.
