Flatiron is one of my favorite mountains and definitely a favorite hike! It’s always an adventure. I got there at 5:30am to head out before the crowds and beat the heat on the way down; I was disappointed to learn that the park no longer allows hikers to park in the overflow parking lot near the ranger residence since the day use parking gate doesn’t open until 6am… so, I had to wait along with many others. It was much warmer and more crowded than I would have liked, but the wildflowers were amazing and I even got to see some awesome bighorn sheep! It was the perfect final hike of the challenge.
