Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

This was a solo hike. It rained on the drive in, so the road and parking lot were muddy. The skies cleared before I hit the trail. As I was getting closer to the saddle, the wind would pick up. Is was very windy (and cold) at the saddle.

I decided to make the trek over to Lone Tree. Even with the cold wind, it was worth it. Once I was back at the saddle, I decided I had time to go find Robber's Roost as well. The wind was blocked on this part of the trail. By the time I got to the roost, the sun was out. On the way back to the saddle, the weather changed again. This time it was snow. As I descended, the snow stopped and the temperature warmed up. It was a beautiful day. One of my favorites.

In all, I saw 3 hikers coming down while I was on my way up and 4 backpackers on my way down. I loved the solitude I had.
