Definitely this heat wave is tough for hiking even early. It was very hot and buggy. Super dusty and dry. I didn’t see any other hikers today. Nobody at the summit. So many fires around us now…and the view from the top was evident of that. Smoke covered most of the mountains. I saw a fox at the summit and lot’s of dragon flies. Plenty of gnats too. Also quail and a few flowers at the summit. Need lots of cold water to hike this trail this week-
