We decided to do this peak to continue our training for Whitney which we will tackle in three weeks. We did the first part of this hike when we did Cucamonga Peak and it's a beautiful canyon, water is still running along the canyon floor. When we reached the saddle we turned right and went up to Ontario Peak. The views were spectacular!! We lunched up there and enjoyed beautiful weather. From there, we went across the ridge to bag one more peak, Bighorn(we are also trying to check off as many of the hundred peaks of So Cal). It was quite steep and the trail was hard to find at times. Glad we did it, but that was a “one and done” for me. We returned the same way and then along the Icehouse Canyon trail we veered off and took the Chapman Trail, looking for a few more miles. The trail was nice but exposed much of the time. It had some beautiful views overlooking the Icehouse Canyon below. All in all, it was a beautiful day with wonderful ladies!!
