My first peak, not just for the Bay area challenge but outside of Southern California. Very busy trail that even along the streets/overflow finding a parking is challenging. Based on reviews, people tends to use Hidden Valley trail, which is the clockwise direction and not a lot of people doing the loop. So, I did the counterclockwise by taking Peak Meadow trail and did the loop by taking the Hidden Valley trail back to parking.
It has a breathtaking views but chilly once on top. Didn’t feel being crowded other than the opportunity to have a solo pic with the marker. It has a decent climb, especially with the counterclockwise start. Due to recent rains, some part of the trail are not that good when I went in April and some restorations are underway. Definitely will hike this again if I happen to be in the area.
