Wow, what a full day indeed! Up at 4am to be on the trail by 6:30am; two trails yesterday (Mt. Baden Powell and the Big Horn mines). 12.5- miles @4k calories burned, 6hrs, 3-4K elevation.

Then home for three events, travel baseball ⚾️ game for G, then Lacrosse ???? travel game for J, and basketball ???? for Z(thanks Lori for your help with Z). It’s a busy time. But, these goals aren’t going to complete themselves without effort. Nearly finished ✔️ with my 17 peaks challenge. Always a grand adventure with Mira…???? so many adventures together.

Mount Baden-Powell is a special summit in the San Gabriel Mountains. It is one of the range’s tallest peaks at 9,399 feet and holds particular importance to the Boy Scouts of America because it memorializes the lofty accomplishments of Lord Baden-Powell who founded the Scout Movement. The views are lofty too, lording over an expanse of rugged mountains framed the San Gabriel Valley to the south and the Mojave Desert to the north. The hike to the top is a thigh-burning 8.25 miles round trip with lots of switchbacks and 2,834 feet of elevation gain. The effort is rewarded by substantial views including a summit 360.

Look out for Wally Waldren tree near the summit. This tree is a local landmark and estimated to be 1500 years old. It is very prominent on the trail to the summit of Mount Baden Powell.
Thanks Philip and Dale for fixing the flag on the summit, it was a beautiful sight to see!
