Freemont Saddle via Peralta Canyon is easily in my top 3 hikes in the valley. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking.
I hiked this on a cloudy and windy day. The sound of the wind through the canyon was refreshing for my mind, especially after the busy holiday season! What I love about this hike is the variety of rock and vegetation you see. Cactus, hoodoos, slick rock, a trickling creek and with the climb, you see more and more of the surrounding wilderness.
This hike, to me, most represents the beauty of the Arizona desert.
