What a beautiful day for a hike!  We couldn't ask for better weather…it was cool and cloudy with scattered rain drops.  We started by flashlight at 4:00 to beat the heat we thought we would get, but weather was not a problem at all.  However, when we finished at the trail head at 1, boy had it warmed up.  Noticed it was almost triple digits on the way to the freeway!  Mosquitos were on the hunt, especially at the saddle, and then at the water on our descent.  Bug spray kept them from biting, but not hovering!  There are a lot more rocky areas that hide the trail in the canyon than last year, but not too bad finding our way.  Views were gorgeous as always! This is one of my favorites!

  1. Congratulations, Cassandra! I’ve finished two other challenges, but still have two more peaks to finish my SoCal challenge.
