After getting  snowed out of a summit attempt a few months back, I was happy to finally bag this peak!  Weather was good today and we were on the lookout for rattlers. There was an intimidating sign at the trailhead with a tally of how many snakes had been seen since May 1st. We only saw one on our way down. He was just minding his own business and crossed our path. Kind of cool actually. Not sure how cool I would have though he was if he was coiled and rattling. Trying to make peace with these creatures and learn more about how to safely share their terrain. We logged 12.6 miles round trip parking lot to peak. The last half mile seemed never ending. Peak was beautiful though and that tree is so cool.  Saw some other hikers but not crowded at all (it was a Tuesday though). Great view of Baldy. Excited for the next adventure!
