Started the SoCal Challenge with a 2-peak day hike, Ontario and Cucamonga. I arrived at the parking lot around 0550 and began hiking right away. Once you enter the Cucamonga Wilderness there were patches of snow/ice on the trail all the way up to the saddle. From the saddle I decided to put on micro spikes before I continued to Ontario Peak. It definitely made my hike easier and faster since the trail was about 95% covered in snow. Spent 30 minutes at the peak and started heading back to the saddle for the second peak of the day.
